Worship

SHARE THE EXCITEMENT WITH US !!!

The Season of Lent is a very important time in the life of the Church.  There is much anticipation from its somber beginning to the “empty tomb”.    Just as Jesus pondered his destiny in the midst of  many temptations for the 40-days in the wilderness, we likewise set aside this time to ponder our relationship with God and His Church, and re-evaluate our destiny and the destiny of  First United Methodist Church.

We pray that you  gain momentum in your faith journey, and become more centered in that faith as we worship together.  We pray that you “re-think” church as you re-think our world and how we live in it.

During Lent, we have offered  Wednesday’s At First, a time of fellowship and study which has been a blessing to all who have participated, and which will continue through March 24th.

We encourage you to walk with us through Holy Week as God’s Greatest Gift is again revealed to us with the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus, for our gift of Everlasting Life through Him.  We can experience together the agony and emotional trauma of Jesus while knowing His Father was with Him through it all.   Just as we experience peaks and valleys  in our daily lives, we  can be comforted by our relationship with Jesus the Christ knowing He is with us.

Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday, March 28th.   We hope you will worship with us and be a part of that service.  Please encourage the children be a part of  the Palm Branch Processional at the 10:30 A.M. and 10:45 A.M.  services.

There will be no Wednesday activities during Holy Week so that we can focus on Maundy Thursday, April 1st,  when we remember Jesus’ Last Supper with his Disciples and experience the Service ofTenebrae.  We will meet at 7:00 P.M. in the sanctuary.

We may all rejoice together on Easter Sunday, April 4th,  and reclaim our Greatest Gift with the freshness of a New Life or Renewed Faith.   We will unite in Blossoming the Cross.

There is a “revival of spirit” tempered with the  emotions of joy, enthusiasm, and genuine concern for each other in our Church as we are reminded of our Commission from Jesus and as we work together to accomplish that mission at FUMC.   (Mark I   Chapter 28   Verse 18-20)
